Using online learning alongside face-to-face learning
Abstract: This case study examines the use of online learning alongside face-to-face learning, i.e., blended learning, in the media studies curriculum. The case study stems from my intention to resolve a number of problems I encountered in my first year of teaching at the Department of Media Arts at Royal Holloway.
Author information: I have been teaching at university level since 2000, delivering media courses. I have completed a research project on the best uses of web pages in education for the University of Leicester. I am an active user of online learning technology in the courses I deliver. I have initiated the use of this technology at the Department of Media Arts at Royal Holloway, and my work in the area has been commended by the University’s Educational Development Centre.
