Networks 16
We are currently working on the next issue of Networks, which is due to be published shortly. We are very pleased to announce that Networks 16 and subsequent issues will be hosted on the University of Brighton’s Faculty of Arts website. More information will be sent out in next week’s bulletin.

Contribute to Networks 17
Deadline for contributions: Friday, 2 March 2012
Networks 17, to be published in April 2012, will focus on teaching and learning practices in which students take centre stage. We invite feature articles exploring student involvement in art, design and media curriculum design, ‘delivery’ and assessment, as well as engagement with departmental and institutional structures and processes. We welcome content written by both students and staff or collaboratively.

SECTOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
HEA Teaching Development Grants - Individual Grant Scheme
Submission deadline – 19 February 2012
This is the second of two phases for this scheme; there is a total of £315,000 available with a maximum of £7,000 per project.
Bids are invited from anyone responsible for the student learning experience who is working in higher education institutions in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland or England that subscribe to the Higher Education Academy. Projects to commence – 14 May 2012.

Change Academy 2012
The HEA, in partnership with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, has opened submissions to higher education institutions across the UK interested in taking part in the year-long Change Academy programme, the flagship programme designed to support institutions implement complex change projects to enhance the student learning experience.
The closing date for submission is 2 March 2012

Inter- and cross-disciplinary teaching, learning and assessment methods in art, design and media

This seminar will discuss and deconstruct the collaborative project briefs involving undergraduate students and staff from Spatial Design, Performing Arts, Animation, Fashion Design, Media and Healthcare, and will showcase the resultant student work. Modes of delivery and assessment will be explained and evaluated.
