British Conference of Undergraduate Research
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) will be hosting the first ever British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) on 19 - 20 April 2011.
The call for papers is now open, the deadline for submission of abstracts is 3 December 2010.
BCUR is dedicated to promoting research at undergraduate level across the UK and aims to give students the opportunity to present work at a national conference.
This is an exciting opportunity for all undergraduate students to present their work. The conference will include poster presentations, spoken papers and
workshops by undergraduate students from all disciplines and all parts
of the UK. The organisers also welcome participation from recently graduated students
provided that the research was conducted when they were an
undergraduate.
This project aims to foster interest in research amongst undergraduate students, increasing motivation and performance on degree courses and hopefully encouraging the more able students to enroll on post graduate courses. The conference will be run in the same way as any other academic conference and there will also be a seperate strand for academic staff to
share their experiences of implementing undergraduate research in their
institutions.
Students can present in a variety of formats including posters, oral presentations, visual presentations and workshops. Abstracts should be no more than 200 words.
