Following
the success of last year's Learning and Teaching Conference, "Creating
Contemporary Student Learning Environments", the University of
Northampton is delighted to invite abstracts for their conference on 13
May 2009. Submissions are welcomed from as wide a range of Higher
Education practitioners as possible with presentations addressing the
theme of transitions.
Better understanding of key transitions
in learning are an important element in the scholarship of learning and
teaching. The conference is designed to provide a forum in which
effective, evidence-informed practice can be shared and debated. the
organisers are particularly keen to receive submissions from individuals
or groups who will report innovative research into learner transitions.
The conference will be centred on four themes:
- Transitions towards independent learning
- Transitions
- Employment/employability: transitions into work
- Technology-enhanced learning: transitions to digital
The conference provides an opportunity for presenting papers, workshops and posters and for developing discussions about the significance of transitions to learning and teaching in higher education. Submissions are welcomed from all involved in learning and teaching, both individuals and groups who have significant experience in this area, and those who are new to higher education.
