The Impact of Foundation Degrees on Students and the Workplace
- Location:
- MIC Conference Centre, London, NW1
- Date(s):
- 21 November 2007 11:00-15:30
Foundation Degree Forward would like to invite you to a dissemination seminar which has been organised as part of a national study on the impact of Foundation Degrees (Fds) on students and the workplace, two events have been organised:
15 November
Novotel York Hotel, York - location
21 November
MIC Conference Centre, London, NW1
These
seminars will provide an opportunity to share experiences of designing
and delivering Foundation Degrees, and in particular to discuss aspects
of employer engagement. The main aim of the seminars is to build
capacity in the development of Fds and employer engagement.
The
study itself has involved student focus groups, student interviews and
a survey of students; and employers interviews – all facilitated by
named practitioners. Each named practitioner has also prepared a ‘case
study’ of their own Fd which has sought to provide a reflective account
of the programme thus far, including its successes and continuing
challenges.
Towards the end of each seminar practitioners will
reflect on their own inputs to the study thus far, and in particular
the usefulness (or otherwise) of producing a reflective narrative of
the continuing development of their Fd.
