Supporting Student Learning Conference 2010
- Location:
- University of Worcester
- Date(s):
- 17 June 2010 00:00
Professor Graham Gibbs and Dr. Tony Cook are the key note
speakers for this year’s University of Worcester learning and teaching
conference.
Graham Gibbs is internationally renown for both his
practical guides to learning and teaching and his research. His recent research
has examined the way assessment regimes at degree programme level have an impact
on student learning, comparing contrasting university environments and
identifying unexpected drawbacks associated with ‘systematic’ course
design.
Tony Cook led the highly successful Student Transition And
Retention project (STAR http://www.ulster.ac.uk/star/about/about.htm ) that spanned
five UK Universities. The projects outcomes has led to the production of
guidance and advice which is used in many Universities across the world.
The conference will also feature a session by students on ‘students as
partners’ and workshops run by colleagues from across the University and, for
the first time, from other Universities within the region.
