- Location:
- Ashley Down Centre, City of Bristol College, Bristol
- Date(s):
- 7 May 2009 13:00-16:30
The Higher Education Academy and City of Bristol College would like to invite you to the above research seminar, which is part of Research Seminar Series 2009: Access and Success for All. Details of the series are available at:
www.heacademy.ac.uk/ourwork/learning/national_research_seminar
The seminar will draw on interviews and focus groups conducted with ten learners at City of Bristol College (regarded as ‘outstanding’ for social inclusion and widening participation in its last OFSTED report) studying on a range of courses at Levels 3 to 5 in areas such as business, digital media, law, childcare and teaching.
The study explores a range of themes which were considered by the learners to affect their successful participation in education. From these data, conclusions are drawn about how best to widen disability support and to ensure that as many learners as possible receive their entitlement.
