First Generation Students into Higher Education

This seminar focuses on research into the experiences of non-traditional students in higher education and support systems to aid their success.
Hosted by Tony Hudson of The University of East London, the keynote
speaker is Professor Mary Stuart, Deputy Vice-Chancellor,
Kingston University, who recently led a team of researchers looking at life
history data from people who are the first in their families to take part in
higher education.
Other speakers and workshop leaders include Professor Paula Hixenbaugh, Westminster University, co-author of Personal Tutoring in Higher Education, and Margo Blythman, University of the Arts, London, who will run a workshop on strategic approaches to the development and management of personal tutorial systems.
