Academy Scotland Debate

This motion of this year’s Academy Scotland debate will be “This house believes that the 50 minute lecture is a good form of teaching”.
The debate will be preceded by a keynote address by Professor Paul Maharg from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law, University of Strathclyde, and Senior Fellow of the Academy. There will also be a marketplace with resources from the Academy available, and the debate will be followed by a wine reception.
The event is aimed at staff in a wide range of roles within Scottish HEIs, and there will be representatives from the Academy Subject Centres.

3.30-4.30 Welcome, tea and coffee, Academy resource marketplace
4.30- 4.50 Keynote address: main issues facing higher education today (Professor Paul Maharg)
4.50-5.00 Questions
5.00-6.00 Debate
6.00-7.00 Wine reception
